"S. O. S."!

Earth from Space

"Stuck On Stupid"!

As the planet continues to plunge into more gruesome atrocities,

the time to heed Dr Martin Luther King's message is long overdue!

"The past is prophetic in that it asserts loudly that wars are poor chisels for carving out peaceful tomorrows.

One day we must come to see that peace is not merely a distant goal that we seek, but a means by which we arrive at that goal.

We must pursue peaceful ends through peaceful means.

How much longer must we play at deadly war games before we heed the plaintive pleas of the unnumbered dead and maimed of past wars?

Why can't we at long last grow up, and take off our blindfolds, chart new courses, put our hands to the rudder and set sail for the distant destination, the port city of peace?"

(Dr Martin Luther King, Jr on 25 February 1967 in Los Angeles.)

Have you ever wondered what kind of progress the United States and the world could have experienced if Dr Martin Luther King, Jr and Malcolm X  had been allowed to continue their lives?

Some clues can be found in the lives and work of two recent Nobel Peace Prize recipients.

They are Archbishop Desmond Tutu and President Nelson Mandela.

A book that is well worth reading that relates to the subject is "GOD HAS A DREAM - A Vision of Hope for Our Time" by Archbishop Desmond Tutu.

The book is published by Doubleday (www.doubleday.com) and is listed as ISBN 0-385-47784-8.

It is available online, at book stores and at your library.
